This award recognises the student who is an all rounder and has excelled both academically and in his/her CCAs. The graduand will be awarded with a miniature replica, modelled after the commemoration sculpture unveiled during the Official Opening of ITE College East in March 2006.

This is to ensure that all students, regardless of their financial background, are given the opportunity to continue their studies. Needy students are able to apply for assistance through the following schemes (click here for more details):
Other schemes available are:
Edusave Pupil Fund
Students may use this money contributed by the Government in their Edusave Pupil Fund accounts to pay for college-based enrichment activities and programmes when they are required to co-pay. The Edusave Pupil Fund cannot be used to pay for standard tuition fees. The minimum transaction allowed per payment is $10. Application forms for withdrawal of Edusave Funds by parents can be obtained from the web-based Student Administration System at http://www.ite.edu.sg. Students may also check the balance available for their Edusave Fund by calling the Edusave Hotline at 6260 0777.
Special Student Assistance Scheme (SSAS)
This scheme is aimed at providing financial assistance to help needy full-time students who require financial support for one reason or another. The financial assistance could comprise cash award (if total gross monthly household income is below $1,500) and/or remission of course fees (if per capita income does not exceed $700).
Needy students should first apply for the CDC & CCC-ITE Bursary, if they are eligible. The SSAS will be opened for applications after the close of application for the CDC & CCC-ITE Bursary. SSAS application forms are available at the Customer & Visitor Centre (CVC). If the application for SSAS is successful for cash award, this will be credited to the student's bank account via GIRO. As such, students must apply for GIRO arrangement with ITE. GIRO application forms are available at CVC.
Opportunity Fund (OF)
The OF is a scheme to subsidise students to participate in various enrichment programmes, study trips and to own personal computers.
Full-time students from low income families may apply for subsidy from the OF if they are eligible. The approval of subsidy and amount to be given (subject to a cap) will be based on assessment of the hardship circumstances and other forms of financial assistance already granted to the student.
Subsidy is given one-off for a student during his/her studies in ITE. Successful applicants are not eligible to apply for another subsidy from the OF.
Application must be made on a prescribed Application Form obtainable from CVC.
The Application Form must be accompanied by supporting income documents, e.g. latest pay slip, letter from employer on gross monthly income or family income declaration form. Students may submit the Application Form and supporting income documents through the Student Services drop box located at the CVC.
For subsidy to purchase personal computers (PCs), eligible students may purchase used PCs from ITE or purchase new PCs from an agent approved by the College, such as iDA. A comprehensive Global Education Programme (GEP) has been put in place with the aim of helping the students gain a wider perspective of life beyond Singapore. Through the GEP, the students’ learning experiences will be enriched and assist in developing a global mindset in the students.
The 4 tracks of the Global Education Programme:
Overseas Student Exchange Programme
Under the Overseas Student Exchange Programme, students will attend part of their Nitec or Higher Nitec courses at an overseas institution and enjoy the benefits of being immersed in a different learning and living environment.
To date, ITE College East has established formal partnership agreements with VTE Colleges in Hong Kong, Vietnam, China, Australia and Korea for student exchange programmes.
Overseas Student Industry Attachment Programme
Under the Overseas Student Industry Attachment Programme, selected students are given opportunities to be attached to overseas companies for a working stint in areas that they have been technically trained. Such attachments give students the opportunity to appreciate overseas working culture through interaction with the workers there and at the same time, game a good understanding on the application of new technology in these foreign industries.
Leveraging on the overseas network of the College’s industry training partners and through the ITE Alumni Association Overseas Chapters, many work attachment opportunities have been secured for the students to be attached to companies in Germany, China, Korea, India and ASEAN countries.

Under the Overseas Student Community Services Programme, students are sent to the regional countries to help their communities in projects such as building or refurbishing of schools, setting up of training facilities, English Language and IT learning for their students. These arrangements are normally done through Government-to-Government arrangements or through the National Youth Achievement Award Council. Besides putting their technical skills to good use through such projects, students also learn social awareness and are better able to understand the plight of others, treasure what they have and provide help to the less fortunate.

Through the undertaking of various overseas community projects, students were able to interact with people from diverse cultures and socio-economic backgrounds and gain a first-hand experience of living within another community.
By being involved in these projects, students were given the opportunity to help others who were less fortunate and this had often left a deep and positive impact on their perceptions of life.

Community Service Programme with the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled
The School of Business and Services at ITE College East launched a community service programme with the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled (MINDS) with the aim of getting students involved in community service as an important aspect of their character development.
This collaboration started on 20 August 2009 when 17 students from MINDS Towner Gardens School (TGS) visited the Hair Design Training Centre at ITE College East for a haircut by students from the Nitec in Hair Fashion & Design course.
This was followed by a second visit on 31 August 2009 for another group of 18 MINDS students who visited our Beauty Therapy Training Centre where they had a manicure session and were taught simple hand massage techniques by our students from the the Nitec in Beauty Therapy course.
Two students volunteered their service with TGS and accompanied 12 MINDS students for their weekly training-cum-therapy sessions held at BazGym Gymnastics School . In October 2009, another six students assisted teachers from TGS to carry out two-hour enrichment sessions at TGS every fortnight.
Uthavikku Varalaama?
Students from ITE College East's Community Service Club were involved in a special project to help needy families with installation and repair works in their homes. The project was coordinated by Punch Productions, which has produced programmes for Vasantham and Suria for a 10-episode programme called “Uthavikku Varalaama?” or " Can we Help You?" commissioned by Vasantham, Mediacorp. The students performed works for three families on 21 November 2009 and were filmed going about their tasks at one of the homes.
Christmas Dreams Project 2009
On 5 December 2009, 80 children from the Singapore Children’s Society joined ITE College East staff and students for a Christmas celebration organised as part of the college’s annual Christmas Dreams Project.
This meaningful undertaking which sought to fulfil the Christmas dreams of the less fortunate children was so well-received by the beneficiaries from the Singapore Children’s Society that it is now organised every year since its inception.
The project was an idea from Mr Lim Kek Boon, who was a student participant in the Talent Development Scheme in 2007. This year’s project team was made up of 10 Talent Development Scheme students from the School of Electronics & Info-Comm Technology and School of Applied & Health Sciences. It was a massive task to complete as they set out to fulfil the dreams of the adopted beneficiaries (i.e. items that the beneficiaries needed), wrapped all the collected items, planned and facilitated the party and games, as well as decorated the venue. The project featured a Christmas-themed concert involving most of the performing arts groups in the College, the Myanmar Youth Expedition Project team, as well as students from the Lighting and Sound Department. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and this inspired the Talent Development Scheme students to keep the “dream” alive for years to come.
Repair of Motorised Scooter at the Society for the Physically Disabled
10 students and two staff volunteered to repair the motorised scooters at the Society for the Physically Disabled (SPD) on 24 March 2010. They successfully applied their technical knowledge for a good cause and this experience gave them a better understanding of the needs of the disabled.
